Storyteller Series - Our Moms - Meet Meylin

We asked each of our house moms the same set of questions, everything from their greatest joy in serving at Casa Bernabé, to raising their own children alongside our Casa Bernabé kids, proud mom moments, and some of their favorite pictures of themselves as a mom.

Today we are excited to introduce you to Meylin, mom of two beautiful daughters and our girls in Casa Promesa.

1.     How long have you been at Casa Bernabé?

My famliy and I have served in Casa Promesa for just over 3.5 years.

2. What is your greatest joy in serving in Casa Bernabé?

My greatest joy is that by serving these girls, I am serving God.

3. As a mother, what is it like to raise your biological children together with the other children in your care?

We always want, and seek, good for our daughters and all the girls. We try to ensure that they want for nothing in their lives.  

Taking care of our daughters with the other girls, is a little complicated as we strive to maintain the balance of care, both of our own girls and the girls in our care.

4.    What are some of the proud "mom" moments of this past year for any of the children in your home?

One of my proud  moments  as  a mom, is that  we  have  learned to work together and improved together in soccer.  ⚽️

When we had COVID, they took care of us.

5.     What does it mean to you to be a mom?

After the love of God, a mother’s love is the most  sincere,  pure, tender love. She is the one who always fights for those she loves.

Moms are the ones who love without expecting anything in return.
