Casa Daniel
To be fully funded monthly, each of our houses needs one house sponsor ($2,000) and twelve child and family sponsors ($120 each). The house parents of Casa Daniel are JuanPablo and Denise serving with their daughter, who has grown up at Casa Bernabe. The boys in this house love playing with her, and seeing them care for her is so special to witness. For a long time, this house was without a House Helper, but that prayer has been answered and Javier has moved in to help with the boys. He also works part time in the kitchen.
One of the strengths of this house is having extremely flexible parents. Denise and Juan Pablo rely on the Lord, and it is evident in the way they lead their house. After they put the little kids down to sleep, many nights they love to stay up later and play fun games with the older kids.
Juan Pablo worked at a game store before coming to Casa Bernabé, so he loves teaching the boys new games, and they're very competitive. They like classic card games like 3-13 and Rummy, Settlers of Catan, Uno, Battleship, and Checkers.
In addition to playing games, they love watching NFL and college football games. The boys were also recently given a classic Nintendo console, and they're very into playing Mario Brothers, as well as playing with HotWheels, trains, and flying kites. If they're not inside playing a game, they're outside playing sports.
