Casa Alabanza
To be fully funded monthly, each of our houses needs one house sponsor ($2,000) and twelve child and family sponsors ($120 each). Casa Alabanza’s House Sponsor is Verbo schools. To see how close Casa Alabanza is to reaching full funding from child and family sponsors, check the progress bar below.
Casa Alabanza, located at the bottom of the hill, is one of our girls’ houses. The house parents, Luis and Glendi, have been serving at Casa Bernabé for four years. In addition to their two daughters, they're caring for seven more girls, including a newborn baby, and three boys. Because of the special needs of one of the boys, and having a toddler and an infant, this house has two dedicated house helpers, Jaquelin and Zoila. These house helpers, along with Luis and Glendi truly have a heart for all of these children, and their patience and kindness can be felt and seen upon entering the house. Luis also dabbles in the cooking world, and makes bread for all of Casa Bernabe. The kids help out in the kitchen when they can, and love learning from him. You have not lived until you have tried Luis’ Tacos and his famous Ceviche!
The girls also enjoy coloring, making bracelets and playing board games. The girls have been loving some classic outdoor games like hopscotch, jacks, and Skip It. Recently, a few teams have visited and made bracelets with the girls, and even made slime! They also love being outside and playing in the sun.
